Pine Needle?

So we were eating ratatouille for dinner tonight and John asked, "What are the herbs in this?" I replied, "The main herb is one you should know, as the taste and the look of it make it very recognizable." John said, "Pine needle?" Can you guess the mystery herb?

Autumn on the West Coast

For the last couple weeks we’ve been amazed at the natural colors outside. In the Midwest it seems like fall is green, yellow, and brown, but here there are many different hues of red, orange, yellow, and brown. Even the brown looks beautiful! Here’s a view from right down the road…

Today we went to Buntzen Lake. It’s a 30-minute drive north of Langley. We had fun skipping rocks and hiking. It was formerly known as Lake Beautiful, and we sure think that name described it well.

Check out the size of this leaf!

Gorilla Gardeners

There is a lot of land in Langley that is currently being developed, being sold to be developed, or has been sold for future development. That's a lot of development. Anyways, we learned from a couple at church that it's okay to go and pick fruit on land that has already been purchased for development and has no one living on it anymore. So, we tried it! We'd never picked pears before, and I think we plucked them from their trees a bit too early, but I've made four batches of applesauce from the apples!
