This little guy is probably familiar to many of you.
It's the little critter from Mercer Mayer's books. (If he's not familiar to you, you NEED to get to a bookstore or library ASAP and find out who he is.) These books are a favorite, as he's a real kid who tries his very best in doing things, but instead always creates some kind of trouble or extra work for his parents.
My mom read these books to us kids for years. When reading Mercer Mayer's books to kids now, I always follow her routine, "Can you find the grasshopper? Where is the spider?" Let me explain for those of you who NEED to get to a place with books - on every page there's a grasshopper and a spider (except for a few books in which it's a frog and a spider) and kids love to find them. Besides the grasshopper and spider, there are great illustrations in each book that help to tell the story. Without the pictures, you'd be lost.
Well, here's another picture you need to see in order to understand the following words:
Let me introduce you to another Little Critter!
By the end of January, Lord willing, we'll have our own Little Critter.

Woohoo! :)
At what week was the ultrasound taken?
Do you want to know something horrible? I have never read those books! Therefore, I have never read them to Ellie, either.
Next time we come to the States, we will try to resolve that problem. Remind me!
This ultrasound was taken at 14 weeks and 5 days. We were a week farther along than we thought!
Wow! Congratulations! So excited to see your new arrival! And just in time for the groundhog day letter...perfect!
Again Congrats Charlotte and John! We are so excited for you guys! Are you still in Bemidji? It would be so fun to see you!
So - what size turnip is that exactly? A nice little one, sweet and young, or a monster, Charlotte and John size turnip???

:) I am smiling as I read this post for two reasons: I am so excited for you guys to be parents because I know you will be great at raising kids and because Mercer Meyer books are amazing and we read them to Levi and Emerson all the time. Levi always looks for the spider and the grasshopper. Keep the traditions going!
