The Firm - the third time around

Have you read Grisham's book The Firm?  My family listened to it on tape during a road trip to Florida when I was ten or so.  We became very involved with the book.  Strange story - on the way to FL we stopped to tour the Vanderbilt house. Six hours of driving later, we stopped at a fast food restaurant for dinner and a couple that had been in the tour was at the same restaurant.  We were being followed, just like the main character Mitch!  It was eerie.

Then there's the movie.  I saw part of it on one of those nights that was spent aimlessly flipping through the channels.

Did you know they're making a TV show out of it?  It's supposed to be about Mitch ten years after the book's events.  And guess where they were filming part of it today?

IN FRONT AND INSIDE OF OUR APARTMENT BUILDING!

There was no Tom Cruise but there were lots of people and TONS of equipment.  Above is the scene Helena & I watched from our window.  Three "journalists" snapped lots of pictures and tried to get the person in the back of the squad car to talk.  I'm pretty sure the cameras were rolling for less than 20 seconds but it took at least 20 minutes to set up the scene, get everyone's make-up on correctly, and to get the camera to work!

We walked through preparations of other scenes but weren't there for any of the other calls of "Cameras rolling!"  But you can bet we'll be trying to watch this show with the hopes of seeing our home!
